Academic Appointments present our Candidate of the Term Winners!

This week our Consultants and Marketing Team have been busy travelling across West and South Yorkshire to present our winners of Candidate of the Term!

This time around we celebrated Candidate of the Term a bit differently and brought it forward to coincide with National Supply Teacher Week!

National Supply Teacher Week is aimed to show appreciation for those working as supply teachers, increase respect and support them with their professional development, all of which we practise and echo as the leading Yorkshire Education Recruitment agency.

Our Secondary winner of Candidate of the Term was Andrew, Cover Supervisor who was nominated by Sharron, Supply Coordinator at Roundhay School. Scott, Secondary Consultant and Alisha, Marketing Executive had the pleasure of presenting Andrew with his certificate on Wednesday in front of Sharron and his former ICT Teacher, as Andrew was previously a student at Roundhay! "Andrew is just great at what he does, he is fabulous with the pupils and manages their behaviour appropriately. He is always on time and just comes in and gets on with it, even if he knows there is a troublesome class he never complains or tries to swap things. He is highly thought of at Roundhay and it is a shame that he won't be available in September as he is going to pursue a career in teaching, which we know he will succeed at.” It was clear to see that Andrew will be deeply missed by the school as he goes to completed his teacher training, good luck Andrew!

Our Doncaster winner of Candidate of the Term was Michael, Primary Teacher who was nominated by Canon Popham Church of England Primary and Nursery School. Clare, Business Manager and Danni, Marketing Manager surprised Michael with his Candidate of the Term award and presented him in front of the school staff, who all had extremely positive things to say about Michael. He was nominated by Tracey Bell, Supply Coordinator “Mike slotted into a difficult situation in our school and he is really good with the children.” Michael was overwhelmed and said he will be sticking his certificate up on the fridge next to his granddaughters!

On Thursday we presented our Primary Candidate of the Term winner, Elizabeth, Primary Teacher at Bracken Edge Primary School. Liz, Primary Consultant and Alisha, Marketing Executive had the pleasure of presenting Elizabeth in front of her Nursey class, and even got to see her teaching! Kara, Administrator nominated Elizabeth, “Elizabeth has worked at our school for several months now. During that time she has been a reliable and supportive working colleague at the school. Her calm and approachable manner and the way which she deals with any problem that arises in a thoroughly professional, helpful and effective way has made her a valued temporary member of the teaching staff at our school. We really feel that Elizabeth goes above and beyond. During her time at the school, she has made a significant impact to the Nursey area she works in.”

Our fourth Candidate of the Term winner was Jordan, Behaviour Support Worker who we are yet still to present after a boxing injury! (We hope you have a speedy recovery)

Jordan was nominated by Tony Phillips, Deputy Headteacher at Hill Top for the following reason “Jordan worked with a team in an offsite Key Stage 4 Provision. He was taken on in the capacity of a Behaviour Support/Sports Leader. He made an immediate positive impact with both staff and pupils. He was energetic and polite to staff and followed all protocols as required in our working environment. He engaged with the students from day one and influenced positive behaviour and engagement in physical activities as well as supporting the teaching staff by encouraging and supporting teaching and learning in the classroom. He adapted to the independence in his role and made good decisions about appropriate activities for our students. I have no hesitation in supporting Jordan in applications for other posts, he is young, enthusiastic and keen and will be an asset to any team he joins.”
