Academic Appointments are currently working in partnership with a primary school located in Wakefield to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker for September.
They are looking for a resilient Teaching Assistant who is committed to investing in to and developing the future of the school's pupils, whilst having a holistic approach to managing difficult situations with pupils. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a one-to-one basis with challenging pupils as the majority of this role will be supporting a pupil with ADHD. The position is 5 days a week and will be assessed on a termly basis, it could lead to a longer-term position.
This is an improving school that is entering exciting changes, including a fresh and inspiring curriculum that aims to support the development of all pupils.
The school has also recently appointed a new Headteacher, who has already taken effective action to address the weaknesses within the school.

- A certificate in supporting learning or education would be beneficial
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to confidently manage difficult situations
- 2x references from educational establishments
- A valid DBS or be willing to obtain one
