Due to a high demand from client schools, we are currently recruiting for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in Harrogate and Surrounding Areas
The role will require you to work under the guidance of teaching staff, to support pupils in or out of the classroom, including the supervision of whole classes during the short term absence of teachers.
Cover supervisors are required to be flexible in their approach, be prepared to cover any subject area and feel confident with all year groups.
Although Cover Supervisor work is a casual position, once a good impression has been made, schools often request individuals back by name. This enables them to maintain consistency for the children and have staff that know the school and their policies.
The duties of a Cover Supervisor include (but are not limited to)
Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
Assisting pupils in undertaking activities
Supporting pupils and encourage them to interact
Being aware of and complying with relevant policies and procedures
Here at Academic Appointments we offer regular CPD aimed at what the role of a Cover Supervisor entails. You can watch this CPD ‘The Role of a Cover Supervisor’ on our YouTube channel by clicking here.
