Academic Appointments are currently working alongside a Special School in Leeds to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to commence after the summer break.
This is a ‘Good’ school, with a strong and effective leadership team in place to ensure that the school achieves excellence. Their aim is to challenge and inspire its students to achieve their full potential. The school is described by staff as an excellent place to work and learn.
The school ranges across the ages or Primary/Secondary and up to 16+ with varying needs, so experience with Autism (mild to serve)/Asperger/Down syndrome/PMLD is required.
This position would concentrate within the primary phase of education and would predominately be working on a 1:1 basis within small classes. As this position would be working with a variation of additional needs, Team Teach is desirable.
This would be a full time, ongoing role to ensure consistency for the pupils.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting
- Care background would be advantageous
- 2x references from educational establishments
- A valid DBS or be willing to obtain one
- Team Teach desirable but not essential
