Academic Appointments work in partnership with several special needs and alternative provisions across Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and Doncaster) to provide specialist HLTAs on a temporary and sometimes permanent basis.

One particular partner school require a bank of qualified and experienced HLTAs to be available for short notice bookings, as soon as possible.

This is a ‘Good’ school, with a strong and effective leadership team in place to ensure that the school achieves excellence. Their aim is to challenge and inspire its students to achieve their full potential. You might like to know that the school is described by staff as an excellent place to work and learn.

  • Must hold HLTA Status
  • Recent experience in primary schools is essential
  • 2x references
  • A valid DBS or willing to obtain one
  • A qualification or other relevant training within Special Needs (eg. Team Teach, Makaton, Moving & Handling) would be an advantage but not essential
Whilst working on supply you will experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour, so you must be confident and engage effectively with pupils who display this behaviour and keep them focused on their academic work.

This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone who wants to make a real impact on young pupil’s futures.

Experience is not always essential for every role but you must have relevant transferable skills, maybe from a care or voluntary background. If you are thinking about a move into education but are not sure how to go about it, still call us as we can offer advice.

The pay will range from between £90 a day to £100 dependant on experience.
